This CD contains QuarkImmedia™ project prototypes created with a prerelease version of QuarkImmedia. These projects include content from Quark™ and Quark customers. Each project is saved with an embedded QuarkImmedia Viewer. A prerelease version of QuarkImmedia Viewer is also included on this CD but is not necessary to run these prototype projects. The prototypes on the CD are:

• Brian’s Birthday Card, a project created by the Quark Multimedia Team.
• interART, a project created by Brian Laramie, a member of the Quark Multimedia Team.
• Taterhead, a project created by Gavin Graham, a member of Quark Technical Support.

Installing the QuarkImmedia project prototypes
1. If you have room, copy the QuarkImmedia project prototypes to the hard drive of your computer. (You can run the projects directly from the CD, but performance may improve substantially if you run them from your hard drive.)
2. If your currently installed version of QuickTime is earlier than version 2.1, open the Extensions folder located in your System Folder and drag the old version of QuickTime to the Trash.
3. Open the Drag Contents to System Folder folder on the CD.
4. If you do not have version 2.1 (or later) of QuickTime installed, install the new version of QuickTime:
• On a 680x0 Macintosh computer, drag QuickTime from the CD to the Extensions folder in your System Folder.
• On a Power Macintosh computer, drag QuickTime and QuickTime PowerPlug from the CD to the Extensions folder in your System Folder.
5. Drag Sound Manager and Sound onto your System Folder icon. If you already have a copy of either of these files installed, an alert message will be displayed, asking if you want to replace the existing copy of the file. If the installed version of any file is newer than the version on this CD, do not replace the installed version with the version from this CD.
